Sports fed us.
The weight room fed us.
The schedule fed us.
The team fed us.

Then the jersey comes off and we wonder why we don’t like ourselves, why we feel lost.
It’s because we stop feeding ourselves.

We stop feeding our mind.
Our body.
Our goals.
Our drive, wants, and needs.

We’re athletes but we’re also human.
Humans aren’t built to sit still.
We are built to grow.

Sports made growth simple.
Countless hours on the court and in the gym.
Practice. Film. Tournaments.
Every day had a reason to get better.

After sports, most of us stop.
We scroll.
We party.
We binge.
We work monotonously.
Then we ask why we feel like a shell.

Years ago I heard a line that never left me:
“You’re either growing or you’re dying.”

Look at nature.
Nothing stays the same.
Animals, plants, people, we’re always moving in one direction or the other.

So here’s the choice:
We can spend our time rotting and worshiping the past,
or we can get busy growing finding a new direction, a new purpose, and our drive again.

This is how I did it (and how you can start today):

1) Envision it.
Not a perfect life map, one scene that lights you up.
The version of your life that makes your chest get warm, makes you smile, maybe even tear up.
That’s the flag.
Write it in one sentence. Put it where you’ll see it every day.

2) Reverse engineer it.
If that life is real, what has to change?
Health. Relationships. Skills. Location.
Make a rough blueprint not to admire, but to act on.
Your brain will start feeding you ideas, people, and chances.
Your job is to take them. One rep at a time.

3) Learn to pivot.
The vision stays. The route is allowed to change.
If the plan didn’t work, good, now you know.
Adjust the route. Keep the flag.
Athletes aren’t married to plays; we’re married to progress.

Because athletes have one thing in common: we need to be growing.
Moving toward your vision is growth, all by itself.

One move this week:

  • Feed yourself on purpose.
Pick one rep for Body (walk, lift, mobility), one for Mind (read, learn, journal), one for Skills (ship one page/clip).
Do them before noon. Mark three pen boxes you can’t cheat.

If you’ve been starving, today is a good day to eat.

I believe in you.
Not for who you used to be for who you’re choosing to become, one rep at a time.

Master Your Next Season.
